Homemade Pizza and a Red Dragonfly
We love to make homemade pizzas in the iron skillet. I wish you could smell it!! Easy to make: buy pizza dough yeast and make according to directions on packet. Add sauce and whatever toppings you like. This one has ricotta cheese, grated italian cheeses, fresh basil and tomoato. We made another one with canadian bacon & fresh spinach plus all the other stuff. YUM-O!
This beautiful, red dragonfly was sunning himself on the car antenna. One of God's many wonderful creations!

Look What I Made!
While Meagan was in town, she was gracious enough to help me get started on making a rocking chair pocket sling. I had no idea where to start and she had some brilliant ideas! I'm very pleased with how it turned out.
I'm also going to re-cover the cushion. In this picture I just stuffed the fabric around the cushion. I need another pro to help me with that...Mom!

Prayer Request
My friends at Crouch Elementary are experiencing tragedy this week. Crouch was the 1st school I taught at, from 2004-2006. The Fun Arts Team includes PE, Music, Strings, Band and Art.
Lin, the art teacher, lost her mother yesterday. She was 88 yrs. old and in poor health. I'm sure Lin is heartbroken to lose her mom.
Earlier this week I found out that Perry's, the PE Teacher, oldest stepson died in his home. I'm sure they are devastated and filled with questions about why he died. He has another stepson and twin daughters, who happen to share the same birthday as me. Perry loves his stepsons like they are his own.
Then on Thursday, I was watching the news and heard that Kay, the strings teacher, was shot to death by her estranged husband in her backyard. They got married the summer that I left, I believe. So, they hadn't been married long, both older adults and I think the 2nd marriage for both.
The first time I met Kay, I didn't know she was the Strings teacher. The secretary had given me what she thought were the keys to my new classroom. She was wrong- Kay stormed into my room and demanded I give her the keys to her room. Scared the crap out of me! As I got to know her, though, I liked her more and more. I think the stern exterior was a facade. She gave me a book of prayer for my marriage when Matt and I got married and one day, when I was so sick I could barely sit up, she was so concerned for me like a mother would be.
Apparently, Mr. Arnold (her new husband) turned out to be psycho and she got a restraining order. He violated it constantly by stalking her. Then, on Thursday, he busted down her door with a sledge hammer, chased her through the house into the backyard and shot her. The neighbor heard gun shots and went outside. She saw what was going on and shouted at him and he left. She comforted Kay while she died. It breaks my heart to know that she lived in terror and then died in terror. Mr. Arnold turned himself in immediately. What an evil man.
Needless to say, much prayer is needed for my friends. I pray that God would comfort them through the love of friends and kindness of strangers and give them peace.

Getting Ready for the Real Thing
I have started experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions. Sometimes they're a little uncomfortable and sometimes I barely notice them. My body's getting ready for the real thing! It's very exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time- and getting closer with every day.
My doctor is going on vacation the week the baby's due. She said she could induce on July 2nd but we would rather wait and let Johnny decide his own birthday! He'll come when he's ready. He's in the right position so far. Keep praying that everything will go well. Thanks!
