Matt and I are just resting and relaxing in our new apartment. We have unpacked, arranged and decorated...and thrown away A LOT of junk that we've been toting around for 4+ years! In the end, it was just stuff and I needed to get rid of it so we can get new stuff... for the baby!
Monday, Jan. 4, is our 2nd doctor's appointment... perhaps we'll get to hear our little one's heartbeat! I also go back to work on that day after this long and much needed Christmas vacation. Pray that it will be ok for me to leave work early to go to the appointment. Matt works at an apartment complex doing maintenance and make-ready. This coming semester he will continue to work and take a full load at Criswell. He has 2 semesters left and then will have earned an Associates of Arts degree. Our plan is for him to finish his bachelor's degree in science and become a science teacher. The baby is due July 9th, so we're hoping that in the fall he will be able to keep the baby during the day and I will be with him/her in the evenings.
We just got news that some friends of ours who are also expecting (a week further along than me) just lost their baby. We are so sad for them but at the same time know that God has a plan. It makes me nervous to hear about miscarriages this far along... it could've been us. I just found a note written in my Bible that says "Faith cripples fear." Amen.
